A couple of good old "UserFriendly" song parodies [Dec. 19th, 2009|03:03 pm]
[Tags|, , , , , ]

The NOC song: http://ars.userfriendly.org/cartoons/?id=20031019 (Sung to the tune of: "One Night In Bangkok.")
Song: D.M.C.A.: http://ars.userfriendly.org/cartoons/?id=20020428 (Sung to "Y.M.C.A.", by "The Village People") (good one -- I don't mean to endorse actual cases of theft, however.)

"Sexy Losers" is back up! [May. 31st, 2009|10:52 am]
[Tags|, , , , , , , , ]

With new logo and two new comics. I haven't been watching the artist's Livejournal, which is http://hardartist.livejournal.com/ , which keeps his public abreast of the latest developments, but I just rechecked the site, which is http://www.sexylosers.com . Warning! This comic is X-rated, except for times when it's only R-rated.

Two good PhD Comics [May. 29th, 2009|07:44 pm]
[Tags|, , , , , , ]

"Research topics guaranteed to be picked up by the news media":
http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/archive.php?comicid=1175 2009/5/20
"The Science News Cycle":
http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/archive.php?comicid=1174 2009/5/18 -- so true: for example, just replace "A" with "Carbon Dioxide" and "B" with "Global Warming"... or "Global Cooling", or "Climate Change" now.

Shakespeare humor [Apr. 13th, 2009|08:15 pm]
[Tags|, , , , , , , ]

Good for a chuckle: a poster advertising "Hamlet": "He's depressed. You will be too." So true, and what an enticement to go see this particular play. This gag is presented in SF format in Buck Godot: "Gallimaufry": http://www.airshipentertainment.com/buckcomic.php?date=20090407 .
Of course, this poster and others portrayed, fit in with the plot of this story...
...For this and other fine webcomics, see also http://www.geocities.com/mygeneralcontent/Humor.htm . Note that some of the links are out of date by now. For example, Peanuts is now at http://comics.com/peanuts -- all strips!

Fun and clever spoof of "The Watchmen" in PvP [Mar. 9th, 2009|11:49 am]
[Tags|, , , , , ]

See: http://www.pvponline.com/2009/03/02/ombudsmen/ . Last one, or latest one so far: http://www.pvponline.com/2009/03/06/ombudsmen-part-5/
It has traditional comics-page characters as "Watchmen"; as characters, in key scenes from "The Watchmen"; for example, Charlie Brown is the Comedian.
Warning: some suggestive R-rating.

http://www.xkcd.com/503/ - of course, the arbitrary dividing line between East and West in the world is at the historical general border area between Europe and Asia. Good mouse-overs in XKCD.
